Little Brother

By james

Teller has been a little under the weather recently…but that hasn’t kept him from enjoying the little things he enjoys. Aislinn and Corbin were out with Gigi the other night and I was home with Teller. He practically asked me to take him to bed and he lead the way. When we got to the room (the light was off) he ran to the side of Corbin’s bed and giggled and yelled “HI!! HI!!! HI!!!” When I turned on the light he got the strangest quizical look on his face…just a “where’s my brother”. “Awww…little guy…corbin went bye bye”. He understood and just kind of shrugged it off.

Still ready for bed, he started saying what I thought was “chocolate” and reached for a book. “Book?” “Book!” he replied strongly. It was one of his favorites: a book about “Tractors”…which in Teller-ese sounds remarkably like “Chocolate”. Actually…he says “Tractor” fairly well…it’s his “Chocolate” that sounds more like “Tractor”…but when you learn a childs language you sometimes don’t catch it when they’ve picked up a new word (tractor), just assuming its a variation on one they already know (chocolate…that sounds like tractor…). Funny…
